Bruce “Doc” Norton is an active member of the Rappahannock Rotary Club of Fredericksburg, where he embodies Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” In this vibrant club of more than 120 professionals, Doc participates in weekly in-person meetings with other members to discuss information about the community and the work of Rotary International.
Rotary, at its core, is a global network of 1.2 million people committed to practical action—eradicating polio, promoting peace, expanding access to clean water and sanitation, supporting education, and growing local economies. Within that mission, Doc’s professional discipline and storyteller’s heart add warmth and momentum to projects that make a tangible difference, both in Fredericksburg and beyond. He values Rotary as a place where integrity, leadership, and friendship turn into real-world results—and where serving neighbors next door is part of advancing goodwill and understanding across the world.
The Veterans Breakfast Club (VBC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building a nation that understands and values the experiences of military veterans by creating communities of listening around their stories. Through warm, welcoming programs, the VBC treats every veteran’s account as living history—connecting, educating, healing, and inspiring both storytellers and listeners. Core beliefs guide the work: every veteran has a story; storytelling bridges divides; and attentive, nonjudgmental listening is one of the greatest ways to thank a veteran.
Bruce H. “Doc” Norton is working with the club to select 10 stories from their inventory of more than 100 stories that will be converted into stage plays and a made for TV series. In this work, Doc is working with Argentine Productions who will produce the TV series from his stage plays.
